Apple’s MacBook Pro gets a slight upgrade

At a recent event held at the Cupertino headquarters, Apple unveiled the latest edition of the MacBook Pro. As always promised, the laptop is said to be thinner and faster, with the added bonus of a customisable touch screen at the top of the keyboard that will change the display as you switch programs.

“The Mac is so incredibly important to us. But it’s not just important to us, it’s important to the world,” Tim Cook, CEO of Apple explained. “For 25 years we’ve been defining and redefining what a notebook is and what a notebook can do and today we’re going to do it again.”

The new MacBook Pro will also feature Touch ID, which allows people to log in to their computer or purchase online through their fingerprint.

However, the Macbook Pro was not the sole star of the show as Cook took to the Apple website while highlighting how people with handicaps can also take advantage of Apple products, more specifically, the Apple Watch, which can now track exercise undertaken by people in wheelchairs.

Apple TV also made an appearance, where Cook revealed that “the future of TV is apps”.

“We want Apple TV to be the one place to access all of your television. A unified TV experience,” Cook went on to say, and with the already existing 8000 apps designed for Apple TV , he may not be wrong. It was then that the app TV was introduced, a new TV guide allowing viewers to see their own customised list of programs across a range of streaming services, while also allowing viewers to track when live-to-air programs are being screened next.

Prices for the 13-inch Macbook Pro begin at RRP $2199 inc. GST, while a 13-inch MacBook with the added feature of Touch ID and Touch Bar comes in at $2699 inc. GST. The 15-inch Macbook Pro will retail for $3599 inc. GST.
