Google Pixel proves to be strong competition to Apple’s iPhone 7

To many tech-lovers excitement, today marks the day of the release of the much anticipated Google Pixel, and with the release of the iPhone 7 over a month ago, consumers will now have to decide on which phone is the better and more efficient candidate. Technical and physical comparisons between the two phones have already been released, proving that Apple may face some competition.

Both phones share the option of a larger phone with a size of 5.5 inches, while smaller phones come in at 4.7inches for the iPhone 7 and 5 inches for the Goggle Pixel. Another slight similarity is the phones’ storage capabilities with the Pixel being able to hold between 32GB to 128Gb of content while the iPhone 7 can hold 32GB to 256GB of content. Camera quality is also up for debate with the Pixel containing 12.3 megapixels, plus HDR and shooting mode, with a 1/2.3 inch sensor and a rating of 89. The iPhone 7 contains 12 megapixels, plus the feature of optical stabilisation while carrying a 1/2.7 inch sensor and a rating of 86.

In terms of memory, the Pixel clocks in at 4GB RAM, with the iPhone 7 clocking only 2GB RAM. The iPhone 7 also falls short in relation to display features with the Pixel dominating at a scale of 1080×1920 Full HD, while the iPhone 7 produces a quality of 750×1334 Retina Screen. The Google Pixel also trumps in terms of battery life with a 2,770mAh battery and a massive talk time of up to 26 hours, while the iPhone 7  lags behind with a battery of 1,960mAh and a talk time of up to 14 hours.

Finally, with relation to physical features, the Pixel can be bought in only 3 colours: black, silver and blue, while customers of the iPhone 7 have the choice of black, jet black, silver, gold and rose gold. The Google Pixel will feature a 3.5mm headphone jack, while the iPhone 7 will feature its famous lightening port instead. Both phones are available at the starting price of $649.
