Tesla’s Model 3

Tesla’s Model 3 has arrived! Future customers waited in huge numbers at showrooms and behind computer screens to place $1,000 deposits on the new electric car. Tesla CEO Elon Musk announced on Twitter that 180,000 orders had been made in just 24 hours. The company currently has the Model S and Model X retailing for over $US120,000 so it’s no wonder many people jumped at the chance to eventually get their hands on the more affordable Model 3 at $US35,000.

The five-seater Model 3 will go from 0-100km/h in less than 6 seconds and like the other models will come with Autopilot hardware. It looks like a downsized Model S with two boots, front and rear with the front seats pushed slightly forward for more rear-seat room. The interior consists of a large touch screen for speed and gear selection and climate controls.

It will become the home to display vehicles including the Model S, Model X and eventually the Model 3. […]
