Ford released their last (and fastest) ever Falcon “Sprint” yesterday and all 1400 cars have been sold already. The car company will officially be shutting down it’s Australian factories in October therefore dealers were quick to snap up the latest edition. Ford has made it clear that it cannot and will not build anymore.
Of the final Falcon Sprint models there was 550 XR6 Turbo and 850 XR8 variants. The new cars offer the same level of performance as expensive European sports cars but started at just $55,000.
Graeme Whickman, Ford Australia boss told News Corp, “We want this to be a special celebration of the Falcon. We’d rather have one order too many than one car left over.” It’s good knowing the last ever Falcons went out on a very turbocharged high note as two of the most powerful models ever made.
Listings on Car Sales are already showing XR8 Sprints advertised up to $79,990.
