The Google Impact Challenge is in Australia and awaiting applications. The challenge aims to encourage non-profit organisations to use technology to come up with innovative ways to make an impact. As it can sometimes be difficult for non-profit organisations to have access to such technological freedom, it is a good opportunity.
The prize is $4.5 million in funding spread over ten organisations. So the first four winners will receive $750,000 each, while the subsequent six finalists will receive $250,000. The first four winners will also gain mentoring and technical assistance, as well as a glimmer of hope for a job.
Projects will be assessed on four distinct elements: impact, technology and innovation, scalability and feasibility. Submissions are open today until the 13th of July, so if you’ve got an idea, you’d better develop it quick smart. The winner will be selected on 26th of October, so your organisation could be three quarters of a million dollars richer.
