Over the last few weeks a prototype for the Tesla Semi has been travelling across America’s southwest. On Friday the truck stopped at the headquarters of J.B. Hunt, a massive freight and trucking company located in the Arkansas.

Acquiring J.B Hunt as a customer would be a massive benefit to the company. The size of J.B Hunt’s fleet is rivalled by a only a few companies such as FedEX and UPS. Other interested customers include Walmart, Pepsi and Anheuser-Busch.

According to Business Insider “the Semi will have a range of 500 miles per charge, an innovative cabin design, and the ability to go from 0-60 mph in five seconds without any cargo and in 20 seconds while carrying 80,000 pounds of cargo.”

After further testing, CEO Elon Musk now expects the vehicles being produced to be closer to having 600 miles of range after one charge. In tweet he shared his enthusiasm:

Production on the vehicles will commence in 2019.
